TradesRoster help

Learn how to build your profile, share projects, find tradespeople, and use jobs and availability.

Getting started

Anyone can browse public profiles and their work. Sign in to create a profile, see members-only profiles, message members, and use the jobs board.

  1. Sign in with Google or an emailed sign-in link. Use the same method each time. If you pick a different one later, you may be sent back to the method you signed up with, and the sign-in page will say which it was.
  2. Add your name, trades, city, and state. An optional ZIP helps nearby search place your profile accurately; distances are approximate.
  3. Use profile setup to add a picture, work preferences, a contact method, and a work example. You can return to setup later.
  4. Find someone you know, follow their work, or post the help you need or the work you are available for.

Location search: Distance search currently uses U.S. ZIP codes or city and state, with approximate distances in miles. Support for other countries' addresses and postal codes is planned.

Profiles and privacy

Choose who can see your work

Profiles start visible to signed-in members. In My profile, you can choose to make yours public so people outside TradesRoster can open and share it. Public profiles, published contact details, projects, and photos may appear in search engines. Members-only means all signed-in members, not only your followers.

Build a useful portfolio

Add work photos and group them into named projects with a description, trade, and location. Only share work you have permission to show, and leave customer addresses and private information out of photos and captions.

Understand credentials and endorsements

License and insurance details are member-provided and are not verified by TradesRoster. Peer endorsements are a separate signal from members who have exchanged messages. Check credentials and agree on work details directly before hiring.

Jobs and availability

Need help on a job?

Post the work and the trades or kinds of help you need. Members respond to an open slot; you review responses and choose whom to approve.

Post help wanted

Available for work?

Post your trade, kind of work, dates, and service area. Other members can find your availability and message you.

Post availability

Use the jobs board to switch between help wanted and availability, then filter by trade, kind, and location. Posts expire after 30 days; availability also ends when its available-through date passes. Review, close, or renew your posts from My jobs when your plans change.

Agree on price, schedule, scope, and payment directly. TradesRoster does not process payments or guarantee a work arrangement.

Messages and connections

Open a member's profile to follow their updates or send a message when they are accepting messages. Your home feed shows work from your network and nearby opportunities. Direct conversations appear in Inbox; follows, reactions, comments, and other activity appear in Notifications.

You can change whether you accept new messages and manage blocked members in My profile. Blocking and reporting are separate actions; blocking does not erase messages already delivered. Notification email has a separate preference and is available only when the mail service is enabled.

Account and support

Report a concern

Use Report on the profile, post, discussion, or message involved. The site operator reviews reports manually. See progress in My reports. A report does not automatically hide content or block a member.

Download or delete your account

Account and data lets you download your records or delete your account. Deletion is permanent. Read the retention details on that page and export anything you need first.
